After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering, Daryl Schauss founded Cedar Run Landscaping Company in 1996. Daryl started Cedar Run with one truck and trailer and has grown it into a multi-million dollar, national award winning landscape company. Focusing on quality service and design, Cedar Run provides complete Landscape Maintenance, Design/Build, and Snow Removal services to high-end residential and commercial clients in Northern Virginia. Their goals for their new website were:

• Present a polished, professional image that appeals to high-end residential and commercial clients.
• Provide information on the services that Cedar Run offers.
• Provide a portfolio of landscape design projects and client testimonials to illustrate their quality work.
• Optimize their site for better search engine placement.
• Provide additional tools for client communications.

Katalyst Role:

For Cedar Run Landscaping Company, we redesigned their site from ground-up, implemented a custom quote form, an online photo gallery for their portfolio and an On-line Newsletter subscription system. The photo gallery will allow Cedar Run staff to easily add additional projects to their portfolio. The system allows Cedar Run to upload the photos, create project titles and descriptions, as well as automatically sizes the photos for them. The newsletter system allows Cedar Run customers to subscribe online as well as unsubscribe, all without Cedar Run staff having to intervene. The staff can then upload new newsletter content each month and send out the newsletter via email with automated links back to their website.
