Web Collaboration is a very hot topic these days. In its most basic sense, it refers to using the Internet to collaborate or work together with other people. One of the great things about the Internet and web collaboration is that people can be spread out across the whole country, or in different parts of the world for that matter, and still work together.

Web Collaboration has many uses. For example, it can be used to help groups facilitate projects for work, collaborate with customers, jointly develop documents or maintain knowledge within an organization, and much more. It can be very useful for small businesses with remote workers or traveling employees and can enhance their day-to-day operations without spending a lot of money. You can find ways to incorporate web collaboration in your daily operations without going further than your computer.

Web Collaboration software can include many tools such as E-mail, Instant Messaging (IM), document management tools, conferencing over telephones and the Web, groupware, and wikis.

Take us, for example. We at Katalyst Solutions use an internal wiki to house information on internal processes, maintain articles and ideas for the ResultsKatalyst newsletter, document tips on using different systems, and more. The wiki allows each of us to add and update information as needed and we have it all stored in one central, secure location accessible over the web.

“We built a web site and after a year realized that our skills resided more in running our business than web development. The problem was that many aspects of our site that could be automated were not! Don Cranford and Katalyst came to our rescue. They built a extremely professional web site that has a high level of automation for our subscribers and for us! They listened to our preferences both in terms of design and in terms of functionality and delivered on our dreams.”
